Two week ago, I promised to start a conversation that everyone could take part in. We here at SportProsUSA establish our success from the relationships we form with our customers. Aside from the family values that course through our veins, we believe that a deep sense of community is the cornerstone of a triumphant business. It is not enough to simply exist within the business world. We strive for connections, mutual reliability, and excitement for the future. Therefore, staying in sync with our customers and our communities is of utmost importance. Here’s a taste of what’s happening now.
This Month at SportProsUSA
Tell us what you think. What would you like to see happen next month?

National Heart Awareness Month: Fresh from New Year’s Resolutions and renewed gym memberships, we are flying into Valentine’s Day dreaming of sunshine and warmer weather. Not to let that distract us from staying in the moment, we have focused our efforts in the present with a campaign for a truly wonderful cause. As many of you know, February is American Heart Month. According to the American Heart Association, sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S. Cardiac arrest is defined as an electrical malfunction in the heart that causes an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) and disrupts the flow of blood to the brain, lungs and other organs.
Every two minutes, someone in America dies of sudden cardiac arrest. That means – at the time of me publishing this – there have been 30,512 deaths from sudden cardiac arrest in 2016 alone. By the time you have read this entire post, at least two other individuals will have died. By the time you are either celebrating the love you share with your significant other or basking in the glory of Single’s Awareness Day, that number will be well over 31,000.
One of the most important factors in helping to combat the number of deaths from sudden cardiac arrest is preparedness and life-saving action. Many, if not most, of these deaths are preventable if proper actions are taken in a timely manner. And while CPR is effective, not everyone is trained or certified in CPR and are thus left fumbling, anxiously wondering how to handle the situation. This is where AEDs come in handy (pun most definitely intended). An AED (automatic external defibrillator) is the only effective treatment for restoring a regular heart rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest for someone with no medical background. It is an easy to operate tool that uses voice prompts, lights and text messages to tell the rescuer what steps to take. One simple tool, when put in place and maintained properly, can help save hundreds of thousands of lives every year.
This is why, in honor of your heart and National Heart Awareness Month, SportProsUSA is giving away a free AED with select purchases through March 15. We have teamed up with One Beat CPR & AED to bring further awareness to this disease and a belief that a radical decline in statistics over the years is possible.
We hope that this tool will help save many lives.
However, even if it saves just one – it will be well worth it.
Naught By Nature Giveaway: One of the very cool things that we do on a regular basis is give away free stuff! Who doesn’t love free goodies? This month, we are giving away two sets of tickets (two tickets each) to Naughty By Nature’s 25th Anniversary Concert.
Each prize includes two tickets to see Naughty By Nature on February 27th at The Marlin Room at Webster Hall in NYC. Click here for your chance to win! Seriously, there’s no catch, no purchase necessary, no gimmick. Just tell us you’d like to win the tickets and you are entered into our drawing. The winner will be chosen at random (must be 16 or older) and will enjoy a night on the town with some music!
Ballin For Peace Night with the 76ers: I can’t help but be very excited about this one! For the next two months, we will be partnering up with Ballin’ For Peace Philly – a non-profit organization focused on providing positive recreational activities for youth and adults in the community. Ballin’ For Peace Philly provides children the opportunity to “Have a Ball without Drugs, Alcohol and Gang Violence.”
We are reaching our to our clients, fans, and supporters for help in providing donations for children to attend the 76ers game on April 10, 2016 during Ballin’ For Peace Night in Philadelphia. Donations can be made through our GoFundMe page or by clicking the red boxes below.
Help us provide a child with a magical evening of sports and entertainment!
This is obviously a great cause and we want as many children as possible to be able to attend this event. The children who are able to attend will receive a special welcome from the 76ers, messages throughout the night on the Jumbotron, free swag, and fun events before and during the game. Every donation – no matter how small or large – will go toward our goal of providing children with the opportunity to have an extraordinary night without drugs, alcohol or violence.
There ya have it, folks! Just some of the major stuff happening this week/month. There are always a ton of things going on here at SportProsUSA. Make sure to check back soon for more fun events and giveaways. Let’s keep the conversation flowing! Email us, tweet us, send us a Facebook message, or comment below – whatever method you’d like! We’d love to hear your opinions and feedback. If you’d like to get involved in any of the above events or have any questions, please email me at [email protected]. Like most things in life, we need support in order to be successful. Providing opportunities for ourselves and our community to do some good is why we do what we do.
